Holiday part 1: Holiday park Ribe in Denmark

This year we decided to go north for a change. Gosia had found a good offer in a travelmagazine. One week in a holiday park in Ribe, the oldest town in Denmark. Then we went up north east to the island Lolland to stay for a week in the next holidaypark Lalandia. After that we stayed for a long weekend at a Servas hostfamily in Copenhagen. From Copenhagen we took the Ferry for a 9 hour boattrip to Swinoujscie, Poland where Gosia's family lives. The last 10 days we stayed in Swinoujscie.
This is part 1 of our travelstory.
The stay in Ribe.

The drive to Ribe is not so far: only 6 or 7 hours.
We arrived while it was raining. Gradually during the week the weather got better.
The house at the holidaypark was very luxurious and thank God, a dish-washing machine! Here you see a photo of our houses with the church in the background.

The small town Ribe is very nice and old with many pictoresque streets and houses. It was at walking distance from our park. So, in the morning I walked to the village to get fresh Danish bread and rolls.

The biggest attraction of the holidaypark for the kids was the big swimming pool of Ribe where we had free tickets for the whole week. Sometimes it was so quiet that we were the only visitors in the pool.

And Maaike and Henny jumped form the highest diving place 5 meters high. just see for yourself:

The other great attraction was the free Pool table in the holidaypark.
This whole week we practiced a lot and the kids got really good at it. Gosia and I liked the free cappuccino that we could get at the reception centre.

In the region there was enough to do: you could bicycle, you could kano in the small waters around the park. There was also a huge Viking park where you could see how the vikings lived, slept and fought. The kids could practice to shoot bow and arrow like Robin Hood. The could make wooden nails for the ships. Lots of animals to see. At the front og the vikingpark you see thee figures that looked like the Dementors our of Harry Potter!

Gosia is not yet Robin Hood:

but now it went better:

There was also a small safaripark with all kinds of animals like an ant eater and lama's and a talking parrot, that was fun too.All in all we liked the park a lot.
Not so busy, a very good park and house and lots to do in the region.
And, we ate here the biggest pizza ever!
