A weekend at Domburg Dutch beach

The weekend after my birthday we had booked a house at a vacation park just near the sea in the Dutch province Zeeland. We went together with friends from our street "The Buikjes". Their kids play a lot with our kids. It was fun. A good park with a big swimming pool for the kids to hav fun.

It is located at walking distance near the beach.
And as the weather was great:cold but sunny, we could make nice long walks on the beach.

We ended this weekend with a buffet at their local restaurant. We surely will come back at this place again one day.

Patrick at the Judo Club Championship

Last Tuesday Patrick had a tournament of his Judo club Shintai.
These were the club championship of his club. Since 1,5 year Patrick is a member of the Judo club. We thought it would be good for him. When he was a member of the club for 3 months we went to a tournament in Belgium for the first time. That was not a big success for him as he lost all his matches. He was inexperienced and impressed with everything. Anyway that experience was not good for his confidence as he didn’t want to go to a tournament anymore.

Now we are one year later. So, we were a bit afraid how the matches would go. He had to fight against three other team mates of the same weight class.
The first match was against a bigger girl. In the beginning we thought he would loose but all of a sudden he had her in a hold grip. And he won!! Surprise! Surprise!
Then he also won his second match against a much bigger boy! Wow? What’s happening? The last match was undecided. But he got a lot of points due to his deciding victory. He ended first in his weight class!
We are very proud of him! He did so well!
It also gave him a big boost for his confidence!

Next Saturday already will be his first official Judo tournament after a year in a village nearby! We keep our fingers crossed.
