Biking in Swinoujscie

Recently I saw all the photos that we made on our trip to Poland.
One big change with other visits was that we bicycled quite a lot in Swinoujscie. That is partly because Gosia's parents had bought two extra bikes so that we nog could all bicycle and partly because Swinoujscie had built a lot of new roads and also bicycle roads.
They have more money to spend on roads thanks to the European Union.

Visited Efteling

After our return we rested two days befre we went to Holland's biggest Amusemen park called the Efteling. Here you can have a look: http://www.efteling.nl

The park was open until 00:00 at night so it was a looong day for all of us. And it was very busy too as the weather was great and it is holiday season of course.
But the kids were full of energy and the parents were sooner tired than they.

Patrick went for the first time at the Bobslee and after that we went 3 more times with all the kids.
Maaike wanted to go several times in the wooden Rollercoaster Pegasus.
Robert did the awful moving ship. not for me . .
Next year Robert will go to the Pyhthon!






There were some smaller attractions like these geese who would faithfully follow two musicians while they were drumming.
Dont ask me how they did it!








Beside the attractions there was a show programme with famous Dutch artists like Kus
(Dutch word for Kiss). Maaike is a big fan of them.

Holiday part 3: Poland

The last two weeks we went to Swinoujscie where grandpa and grandma of the kids live. There it was also really warm. Great beach weather. We ate lots of icecreams. Visited the fair. We bicycled a lot in Swinoujscie and even to Germany by bike. Its's only 6 km to Germany by bike. We also made a tour on a boat and the captain was kind enough to let Patrick Maaike and Robert steer the boat.

We also went to Koszalin, a town 160 km. east of Swinoujscie, where we visited Sylwia, Gosia's niece and her husband Krzysztof. But first we also visited Gosia Dlubak our former au-pair who was working at Miedzydroje.

We had a good weekend there too. Sylwia and Krzysztof showed us the town and a museum and a day later we went to a beautiful lake in the woods near Koszalin. We had a great time in Poland and the kids expecially liked Diana's dog Aika . Diana is the sister of Gosia. Some photos:

While we were in Swinoujscie we also went by bike to Germany and visited the beach and a swimmingpool. They have some nice places there too.

Holiday part 2: Heat Wave

After that week it got very hot in the Netherlands. We had a heat wave in the Netherlands in the whole month of July. It was the hottest month in 200 years in the Netherlands. So, that next week we almost were non stop in either our own small pool in the garden or in the swimming pool Splesh near Roosendaal where we had a subscription.

Schoolholidays part 1, first on Safari

Since the beginning of July the kids are free 6 weeks. That means some organizing for us to take care of the children. The first week Gosia and I still work and my sister Marja and my father wil take care of them. Then we both are free for 4 weeks.

This time is almost over now. The kids are free for one more week.
But we will have to start working again tomorrow.

In the holiday time we went for one week to a bungalow next to a Safaripark. The week was great. The bungalows were coloured in safari style as you can see.












The weather was great. They had lots of animation for the kids.
We had free access to the Safaripark and went there 3 times.
Next to the Safaripark was a huge playfield and a lake. So the kids weren't bored at all.
