We won

Well, we won our second match against Ivory Coast.

I was not able to watch the match (same as the first match against Servia Montenegro when we had the communion party for Patrick) I don't know how they played but we made 2 beautiful goals.

I saw the goals later. One was from our talent van Persie. Here you see the photo of his goal.









Next wednesday against Argentina, one of my favourites for the World cup
We'll see how they do.
If we win and Mexico becomes second in their group then we will have to play Mexico in the next round!

So Carmen, that could be fun.

First Communion Patrick

Sunday the 11th was the holy communion for Patrick.
We had been preparing for this day for a while.
Many things had to be done like clothes for Patrick and the rest, buying and making the food (gosia's work with her stepmother), cleaning up the garage so that the children can play there (Henny and Gosia), putting up a big party tent in the garden which we borrowed from Luuc & Marina etc etc.

The school and church have been preparing the children for some time now. The actually rehearsed the whole church ceremony for the children so that they knew what to expect and what to do.

Sunday was a very hot day. Temperatures above 33 degrees Celcius. So it was also hot in the church. The church service went very well. About 450 people attended the mass. Patrick did very well. We were all very proud of him. It was also an emotional time as we all for the family as we realized it was the first communion without Henny's mother.

After church all friends and family went to our house. There was a party until late that day. Although it was extremely hot most people seemed to enjoy themselves. The kids were busy outside or in the garage. Patric had a great time and enjoyed all the attention. He was happy with all the gifts. He was really spoiled by family and friends. He will not forget this day easily.

What was even more special was the fact that the Dutch soccer team played their first match that day at 15:00 against Servia Montenegro that day for the World Championship Soccer in Germany.
Because they won 1-0 we had even a bigger party after that!

All in all a tiring day with lots of emotions and fun.

After the party the kids could cool off with water, lots of water . .

Soccertournement

Last saturday Robert's soccerteam E3 had it's last activity of this season.
We were invited by another soccer club to play in a tournement.
This club VV Walcheren was about 70km away and very close to the Dutch beach.



The weather wasn't bad and Robert's team didn't do too bad. Robert also played some good matches too. In the end the team ended on the 3rd place! All in all they won 3 matches, lost 2 and had 1 draw.

Lucky enough for the parents who had accompanied the team: the weather was cloudy with some sunshine so beside the results we were also happy about the weather ..

After the Gym Tournement (see below) of Maaike in Belgium we drove on an visited Agnieszka, our first au-pair from Poland, who met a Dutch man Marc in the time she was with us and finally got married. Now she lives happily with him in Zeeuws Vlaanderen.

So we visited them in their house which they had renovated the past 8 months. A lot of work but it is beautiful now! My compliments!

Maaike's international tournament

Last weekend Maaike had her first "BIG" gymnastic tournement. Since last year she has joined a gym group that trains 3 times a week,
She likes it. One of the trainers comes from Belgium so she organized a tournement in Belgium.
That gave us the chance to see Maaike and the rest of the group in action.













I was amazed what Maaike could do already after 7 months of intense training.

It was pretty cool although Patrick and Robert were bored after an hour.
It was a long tournement with many excercises from 08:30 (yes, that early) until 13:00.
