We stayed with a Servas hostfamily. We are a member of Servas http://www.servas.org/ and this enables us to stay with host families around the world.
It is a very nice experience for us and the kids. Our host family was very nice. They had two kids in the same age as Maaike and Robert. Although Maaike had great doubts about how to communicate with Anina as she does not speak English or Danish all went well. Robert and Patrick had fun with Aaron, the 12 year old Danish boy. The Danish parents were amazed how good their son spoke English. Here you can see Maaike and her friend Anina playing an ancient Scandinavian game. Don't ask me the name; I forgot.
Anyway, we spent the saturday in Copenhagen. A very nice beautiful town.
We saw the changing of the guards and then we booked a hop-on hop-off boat tour which was great. I never knew that Copenhagen had so many canals.
The next sunday we left by ferry to Swinoujscie

What a neat experience! I followed your link to servas - what a neat organization. I'd love to be a part of something like that! I just have to find some money in our budget for more travel abroad :)
