Wine trip to Avignon

Last week my friend Ron and I went on a 4 day trip to Avignon.
I won this trip at a wine contest and it was an all included trip with car rental, hotels and meals as well. We rode with a super fast train called the TGV. That was really fun.




The good warm weather there also helped to make it enjoyable.

The trip was a combination of visiting 7 Vineyards in the area around Avignon. There were chateaus and also smaller vineyards as well. All the tours including winetasting were great. I am not such a wine drinker but now I know much more about the wine business. But I only tasted the wine. Ron, my friend, doesn't drink alcohol. So he could drive while I drank and drank and drank. It's tough such a trip.
Well, to tell you the truth I often spit the wine in a bucket.





We also visited ancient sites like a roman villa, a medieval castle and a medieval village.
We saw the huge Roman theatre in Orange. This is the town where our royal family originally comes from.










All in all a great trip which we really enjoyed.
