Another Day at the Races

By coincidence Gosia won last week another 2 VIP tickets. These were VIP tickets from BMW /Samsung who are the sponsors of a car race in a town called Zandvoort. I remember that long long ago the Formule 1 also drove on this racing track.

This time Robert and I went by train to this event. It was great. Everywhere fast beautiful cars, a lot of noise during the race, 90% of the visitors were men and we saw the special famous beautiful race women. Food & drinks were included.

The BMW Samsung VIP lounge offered a very luxurious catering and we had great viewing places in a curve where we could see the racing cars very well during the races.
It was also possible to go karting. They took us by VIP shuttle. They said it was for 18 and older but to Robert's great pleasant suprise he was also allowed to kart for a half an hour together with me. It really was fun! It was his first time! This first 10 minutes Robert drove not so fast but then his confidence grew and he even passed me! A natural born talent!

Another thing they offered was to drive a new BMW and drive on a special track and practise on slippery wet roads and test the brakes and ABS. It was fun too. At one moment I even made almost a full pirouette with the car. Fun!

One of the driversteams consisted of two real Dutch princes: nephews of our queen Beatrix! Robert stood next to them when they gave their press conference after the race in the VIP lounge.

We had a great day at the races and we can get used to these VIP treatments . . ;-)Not bad at all

Gosia,

I'm Moscowmom's mother and just read your post. My paternal grandfather was born in your country and my cousins live in Hilversum and Kortenhoef. I visited them back in 1970 and spent a wonderful week in your country. Moscowmom went to visit them in December of 1988 right after our Xmas holidays. I just loved Holland, it's beauty, people, customs, delft and cheese. On my fireplace hearth are a copper metal Dutch ash container and a pair of wooden shoes.
